Departed Clarks Landing Friday morning at 6am for a bottom fishing trip. We anchored up over a few pieces searching for some seabass, however only about 15-20 were found with only a few being keepers. Capt decided to setup on a new spot for tog. Toggin at first was slow, however a couple keeper tog managed to find the boat. And then it happened...a hookup with a nice fish in the stern of the boat, followed by another. The first fish was definitely a nice fish, fighting the angler inch for inch to the surface. A big fish and our biggest fish of the day. The second fish found its way back to the wreck and managed to get hung up ending the fight shortly thereafter. About five minutes later, another solid hookup and a second large tog is boated. We continued to drop down and manged our limit for 7 anglers with several released tog. We left the fish biting. We fluked in the river but were unable to shake down the shorts to find any keepers. We released 20 short fluke with no keeper to show. The three biggest weighed 11.15lbs, 8.40, 7.60lbs at Reel Life B&T in Pt. Pleasant.

We had a turn around for a group out of Kansas later that afternoon. We decided to run out and find more large tog and then head further offshore for some ling action. A few short hits and short seabass, and later, we finally managed what we were looking for. Another nice tog was extracted from the piece by young Griffin weighing 6.60lbs. With that fish we decided to head offshore searching for some ling. We managed 39 ling up to 4lbs. It was a great time with both trips and the Fintastic ended the day with two trophy fish.
